Blair McMillan grew up at the end of a cul-de-sac in Kilmarnock, Scotland. From an early age, he was obsessed with music. Mainly Nat King Cole, Tony Bennett, and all the other jazzy fellas.

He spent most of his teenage years passionately annoying the neighbors practicing the drums. Hard work paid off, and he then traveled the world playing for various songwriters, theatre productions, and anyone who would give him a stage throughout his 20s.

As a musician, Blair has shared the stage with Elton John, Amy Helm, Jim Lauderdale, Nicola Benedetti, Rachel Sermanni, Katie Sutherland, and many more famous-ish folk you may or may not have heard of. In the studio, he has worked with producers such as Matty Benbrook (Faithless), Steve Chrisanthau (Corrine Bailey Rae), Alex James (Blur), and David Kosten ( Coldplay, REM).

He's appeared live on Television and Radio across the UK and Europe and played festivals such as Rockness, T in the Park, Secret Garden Party, and Floyd Fest in Virginia, to name a few. His drums have even been used in a Victoria's Secret commercial.

In 2013 Blair relocated to New York City, where he appeared live with Brooklyn-based duo Z&A and Brooms. During this time, he focused on his own material as a writer. Blair then toured the United States and Canada with David Moss of the Brother Brothers and Emma Beaton of Joy Kills Sorrow.

Blair now resides in Savannah, Ga. As a writer, he has performed in New York City, Texas, and Nashville. He has appeared at poetry events such as Maxwell Putnams Nashville Canon Review and Lyrical Brew, hosted by poet Ciona Rouse. As a poet, he's appeared alongside Robyn Hitchcock, Emma Swift, and Doug Hoekstra.

In the spring of 2020, Blair collaborated on a spoken word piece with songwriter Anthony Da Costa. This collaboration appeared on Da Costa's What Plans EP. His words also feature as part of the Unsung Machine project by Lomond Campbell. He's currently working on his first book and accompanying recording of poems and stories.
